YARN
Cotton is the most popular and economical dust-mop yarn.
Cotton is often blended with synthetic fibers to add strength.
Some of these yarns are designed to withstand laundering. Because
they don't require laundering, disposable dust mops are made with bulky,
loosely twisted yarn that actually picks up dust better. Our launderable
Loopmaster cotton
yarn combines exceptional durability with outstanding dust pick-up.
Our Astrolan yarn has electro-static properties that attract dust
particles without the use of treatment.

Backing Material
Synthetic backing material dries much faster and absorbs less
treatment than cotton. We offer a variety of backing styles
including: Break-Away, Open Back, Key Hole, Slant Slip and
Envelope (all illustrated above). Choose from easy-to-use ties or
optional chrome-plated snaps. Backing colors
include: red, yellow, orange, blue, green, and white.
Our unique Zipline system incorporates a special Velcro style backing
that secures the mop head instantly and effortlessly. |

Cut-End
The cut-end dust mop, though more economical at
first, tends to fray, unravel and lint. These problems decrease
its performance and lead to replacement of the mop. These
problems are intensified by laundering. Our
Loopmaster yarn
solves this problem by looping and twisting the yarn
fibers..
|

Looped-End
By trapping more dust, producing less lint, and resisting
tangles, the looped-end dust mop delivers maximum performance.
Because looped-end yarns withstand heavy use and frequent laundering
without unraveling, linting is virtually eliminated. Looped-end
yarn is available in long loops for maximum coverage or short
loops for health care and specialty applications.
|

Durability
High quality construction standards produce the best dust mop
value. Reinforced stitching at stress points is a sign of better
mop construction. Innovative yarns, like our Tennessee, Astrolan,
and Loopmaster, can provide both longer service and improved
performance.
|

Size
The longer the dust mop, the more area it can cover in a single
pass. A 5" dust mop remains effective longer before
unloading, than a 3-1/4" dust mop. However, dust mop size is
also dependent on obstructions and area size. A narrower, shorter
dust mop is far easier to handle, and reaches into places where longer
dust mops can't.
